Two self-contained command centers built mostly to argue with myself before hindsight could.
the problem
The same weakness shows up in money and business experiments: it is easy to rewrite the rules after the outcome. i wanted static tools that made the math, gates, and uncomfortable facts visible before the next decision.
what i built
Escape Velocity for personal capital discipline and SHIFT Mission Control for validation gates, unit economics, runbook tasks, and claim discipline. both are dependency-free browser tools built from real operating context rather than generic templates.
current state
Shipped as small internal tools. neither needs to become a company. their job was to make a decision harder to rationalize after the fact.
i made dashboards mostly to argue with myself.
Notepad is a misleading repo name. it became a tiny HQ containing two static command centers: one for personal capital discipline and one for operating the early SHIFT validation plan.
the first dashboard was designed to slow trading down.
Escape Velocity used a real account snapshot to show realized damage, churn, leverage decay, position sizing, and the math of compounding from a small base. the thesis was deliberately boring: at small balances, survival and deposits matter more than heroic returns.
then the same pattern got applied to a business idea.
SHIFT Mission Control converted strategy, runbook, and content documents into today's tasks, hard kill/continue gates, a funnel model, unit economics, a claim linter, and a manual content engine. the dashboard did not make the business true. it made the conditions for continuing explicit.
the final feature was a handoff file.
HANDOFF.md captured operator context, live snapshots, strategy state, architecture, verification patterns, prior advice, and open threads so another session could continue without reconstructing the project from chat memory.
